Tickets for the new Rome - Rio de Janeiro flights will be on sale from today on-line or contacting us on  +39 (0)20 7592 9741.

The new service will commence on 4th June next year and will add to the direct Rome - Sao Paulo service already operated by Alitalia.

There will be three weekly flights throughout the month of June, increasing to four weekly flights from July onwards.

Alitalia will be the only company to provide direct scheduled flights between Italy and Rio de Janeiro and will become the first company between Italy and Brazil offering a total of 11 weekly flights to Brazil: 7 flights per week to Sao Paulo and 4 flights per week to Rio de Janeiro.

The departure from Rome Fiumicino airport will be scheduled for 22:30 (on Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday and, from July, also on Friday) with arrival in Rio de Janeiro scheduled for 05:40 local time.

From Rio de Janeiro take-off is at 14:45 (on Monday, Wednesday, Sunday and, from July, also on Saturday) and landing at Rome Fiumicino airport is at 07:10. The schedules are designed to allow passengers excellent connections with the domestic and international network of Alitalia.

The new Rome - Rio de Janeiro service will be operated by one of the new A330 Airbus which will join the Alitalia fleet next year following the fleet renewal plan, which has already seen two new A330s being delivered this year. These aircraft offer three classes of travel: “Classica” economy,“Classica Plus” premium economy (a new superior economy class dedicated to customers wanting more comfort and privacy) and “Magnifica” business, offering service excellence and the latest top-of-

the-range lie flat seats.
